The Academy is a private organization of researchers and has no official connection with the SCA College of Arms. Our purpose is to help people to choose and use names and armory that are historically appropriate to the cultures they want to re-create. The College of Arms has a different goal and uses different standards to evaluate submissions. While our research may be used as supporting documentation for SCA registration, the Academy is not a part of the registration process and we do not accept or return names or armory. We just give advice on accurate re-creation. If you find that our recommendations are unsatisfactory for your purpose, you may find that other SCA heraldic resources will be helpful. You can seek assistance from your local herald or any member of your kingdom's heraldic staff.
