Isms from ibn Munqidh
by Basil Dragonstrike

On this page are all the isms I found in ibn Munqidh. In this list, a notation of "N" following the name means it was found only in nasabs, and not used as an ism per se (in this book, that is); a notation of "K" means it was found only in kunyas. A notation of "K, N" means it was found both in kunyas and nasabs, but not used as an ism, while "K in N" means it was found in a kunya within a nasab. Thus, any unmarked ism was found used as an ism per se, even if also found in a kunya or nasab.

At the end I have listed the theophoric isms, which duplicates names from the other lists. Note the presence of ʻUbaydah, which is the diminutive of ʻAbd, and means "little servant" --- "of God" being understood.

As there are few women mentioned in ibn Munqidh (as is true elsewhere), for the convenience of women wishing Arabic names, I have put feminine names at the head of the list.
